Brandon Equine Medical Center provides 24-hour-a-day hospital emergency services, including surgical cases. Equine ambulatory veterinarians throughout the state of Florida refer cases to Brandon Equine. However, a referral is not required for treatment. Brandon Equine sees approximately 500 emergency cases per year and is equipped to manage all emergency conditions.

If your horse is experiencing a health emergency, please call 813-643-7177 for immediate assistance. Brandon Equine provides ambulatory emergency services during regular business hours. Brandon Equine continues to see emergencies at the clinic 24 hours a day, seven days a week. At the clinic, there will be two levels of emergency service:

1) First opinion emergencies are seen by either a junior associate or a senior general practitioner, or
2) Emergencies are seen by one of our specialists.

Full details of these options and what is best for the horse will be discussed at the time you call the clinic with an emergency. Additionally, we recommend that you speak with one of our veterinarians to discuss having Dormosedan Gel and Banamine on hand that you can administer on our direction in order to facilitate transport to the clinic if or when needed.
